Why we are obsessed with Captain Traore and how to brainstorm ideas.

Hey there,
Trust you are having the best of the weekend.
There’s a quiet revolution happening in the hearts of many Africans and at its centre is a man who stirs something deep inside all of us.
No leader of any country has been assassinated more times than him. Literally, every day, a new video is uploaded on the Internet detailing another foiled assassination or coup attempt or larger-than-life story featuring him.
The Internet has been fuelling or better still, exploiting, this new obsession by churning out mostly fake content about this man.
The man in question is Captain Ibrahim Traore. He needs absolutely no introduction. Anyone who has a smartphone must have watched a video of him speaking in English, then in French, escaping assassination attempts, foiling coups in real time and dancing with R Kelly.
The problem is that most of what we know about him are just lies and misinformation by a section of the Internet that share our admiration for the man, but at the same time, is exploiting it.
Yet, his true story is inspiring.
On X (formerly Twitter) Nigerians are leading the Captain Ibrahim Traore vanguard. Naturally, Nigerians no dey carry last.

The question is why?
The answers seem simple but they are rather complex. So, without assuming we know anything about it, we explored answers to the question using the works of psychologists like Gustave Le Bon, Sigmund Freud and Rollo May as reference points.
